This is quite scary. They said on the news that possibly 65,000 people in Britain may die from it, although this wasn't at the top of the story but mentioned several minutes in so the likelihood seems not very high. More people are dying each day from it. Shall we all make our peace with god?

How many would have died from ordinary flu anyway?
The figures being thrown around mean nothing unless you have something to compare it against.
How many old people/ill people are going to die of swine flu, that would have died anyway?
What I would like to hear is .... 6 people died this week, but 150,000 got better and are back to work, but sadly that kind of story does not make sensational headlines, imagine the sun's headline
150,000 get better!!!!
It s all about what sells the most paper, what is more sensational, yes Swine Flu is bad, but normal flu is also bad.

I have been told i have swine flu & put on the Tamiflu anti viral drug but i should make a full recovery within 1 to 2 weeks, the doctors explained that 99% of people will get swine flu & not even know. They said the average is 4 deaths per 1000 cases compared to normal flu which kills 1 in every 1000,
Spanish Flu killed 20-25 per 1000 so dying from this flu is rare.
A vaccine will be available next month for people at risk so there is light at the end of the tunnel, almost as many people have died from normal flu at the moment so until we are painting red crosses on our doors i think we will be alright.
