Just when we thought life couldn't get any more crazy, the blonde bombshell that is Boris is to star in EE. Peggy Mitchell (she of the Queen Vic public house) has been getting involved in local politics; Boris Johnson (he of the London Mayor's office) and her meet in the pub to 'talk politics'. I wonder why Boris is keen to do this? Publicity for himself perhaps.

He'll feature in Eastenders, however given that most politicians are consummate performers there's every chance that he'll steal scenes from seasoned pros such as Babs.

It's a shame Brookside isn't still on our screens ... it would have been a great PR stunt for Johnson to appear in that as himself.

And have a gang of scousers throw shit at him?

The only reason Michael Howard made him go up to Liverpool and eat shit (for something he didn't write, though it was in his magazine) was because Howard supports Liverpool FC, for some strange reason. It's hardly as if BoJo cost the Conservatives many votes in Liverpool is it?

I used to like BoJo and even voted for him for London Major. He has proven himself though to be a stage-managed politican and probably as left-wing as Ken Livingstone, which has astonished me and probably a lot of other people too.

agree with max rather unfortunately

The guy has his moments, that speech about the olympics coming home at the beijing closing ceremony was classic and why so many londoners chose his bizareness over livingstones left wing policys.

But the whole cutting out drinking completely on streets and travel services is just ridiculous and borderline favouritism towards the sort of people he associates himself with and your regular 9-5 joe that doesnt wanna lure at women or cause scenes but would just like to head home after a hard day with a refreshing drink.

I work from 11pm-9am in a boiling hot warehouse and will be damned if someones going to tell me i cant finish off my day with a cold fosters

I recall that shortly after his election I spoke to my sister who lives in Washington DC and asked her what the North American news media had reported on BoJo's win. She told me that the general feeling was that the new Mayor of London was a clever and highley intelligent person, but worked very hard to conceal it.

Theodore Kaczynski was a genius but it's not about having intelligence, it's what you do with it.
