The French are to ban females being topless on beaches....I heard this from a colleague who said that it will be a warning first then a fine !
Whats everyones view on topless sunbathing...
My own view is that with young kids around it should not be "in everyones face" but OK when actually sunbathing i.e. laying down !
!holiday!

I think it's stupid [the banning]. How do they justify this law?
Nothing wrong with kids seeing nudity either, in my book. Could be embarrassing as a teenager, seeing mum walk around with her tits around her waist, but as a young kid before puberty I doubt they'd take notice after an hour and move their attention away and onto more interesting things, like building sand castles and playing in the sea.
It seems like the French are going backwards and if this was Britain doing it there'd be plenty on here spouting about Nu-Labour taking more liberties away.

As the article makes clear it applies to the short term artificial beach along the Seine in central Paris. If there is less toplessnes in France it will because it is not as fashionable as it was to go topless.
