The Bill on ITV1 - new look...
Anyone see this last night? The Bill has been relaunched in a 'new look' format. It has incidental music which it never had before, it is on post-watershed unlike before, and has more the look of an American movie than a Brit cop show. Another episode is on tonight. Now this new look has begun, it will remain. After 24 years of the old way of producing it, it is now in its new format as of last night. For those who watch The Bill, what do you think of the 'new look'?
Re: The Bill on ITV1 - new look...
I like The Bill and didn't realise it was on last night until after it had finished as it is no longer being shown on STV (Scotland's version of ITV). So from now on I will have to watch it on ITV London on my Sky Box.
Think it is shocking that STV decide to show some crap called Made In Scotland instead of a decent show like The Bill.
Will be interested to see how this new look works out for them and hope the show is just as good.

The new look is down to cost cutting, basically, they have to make it on a lower budget now. Only time will tell if it looks significantly cheaper.
ITV are in such a mess financially, they're only interested in shows with a voteline these days, they toyed with the idea of having a viewer vote in the main news programme not so long ago.

I only watch The Bill in the shorter version on TV Burp - I'll let you know what I think of the new format when Harry Hill's back on.

They'd have to try very hard to make The Bill look cheaper. It always looked like it was shot inside a portakabin.

Did you notice how the Canary Wharf towers were in the background of EVERY outdoor shot in the two episodes so far and will probably continue to be as the episodes progress? I dont know why they did that. It wasnt just often, it was every scene.
Re: The Bill on ITV1 - new look...
It used to be the Millennium Tent that was in the outdoor shots. Perhaps they've moved.

They seem to be taping the show on a 20 year old Maxell C180, the picture quality was shockingly bad.
