There are certainly fixed rules in cricket, but things like batting order, who starts off batting etc are decided by the captain. The actual members of the team are decided by a panel of 'selectors' - who are either idiots or gods depending on how well your side finishes!
But, like football, cricket has as many experts as fans who all think they know best. Some of the rules rely on sportsmanship to be carried out as intended and the best example of this is the infamous "underarm bowling incident" in a match between Australia and New Zealand in 1981 :-
This is a source of eternal shame to my country.

Hope this helps.
Cricket:
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.
When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.
This is an entirely correct explanation of Cricket.

2 teams of 11, test match cricket consists of 4 innings 2 per side, the side with the most runs at the end of the game wins
not really rocket science

I suppose that Sarah, being in the porn caper, at least understands men going in and out, and once they're out wanting to get back in.
