Lily Allen's take on the male/female dynamic...

I read an interview with Lily Allen today, and she said something a bit bizarre. It is well known Lily is one of those young women who has problems with every other young woman she encounters and seems to generally dislike other girls her age. I asked my mother once why this goes on and she said it is competition for males, and a lot of girls will hate other girls who they think are more attractive than them as it decreases their chances with males if more attractive females are around. Females mammal's see males as a 'resource' - they have to woo them otherwise the most important thing for them to do, to procreate, wont be happening.

Anyway, Lily said something quite odd but quite interesting too. Having stated that she likes the company of men more than women she said she likes being around her male band mates on tour and to see them be approached by women. She said that if they are all in a room and 'four f***ing bimbos' (as she put it) come in and start to hit on them, she likes it when the band turn the girls down and then give the impression to the girls that they are with Lily (just as mates). She likes it when they show to the girls that they are there to look after her and assist her. That makes her feel stronger, shows to the girls that the guys are with her and for her, which makes them feel smaller.

So Lily, who generally hates other women, likes also to show to them that she is getting more male attention than them, hope that this makes them feel smaller, and then she feels stronger and more powerful. Quite odd but quite interesting too. I've known of numerous women who have major problems with other women, for no other reason than they are women, but I've not heard of it being quite like it is with Lily. What do other people think about Lily's stance - and I would be interested to hear what any girls who post on here may think too.

And it amuses me to hear some women claiming that they dress to impress other women, not to attract men. Strange - because when girls share a flat together and there are no boys around they generally get round in track suits, slippers and greasy hair. When one of their boyfriends is due to visit they all babe themselves up!

From the little that I know about girls of the female genda, I think they dress to attract men but try not to be too obvious about it. Thus you will see utter sex-pots often dress quite conservatively and dont flirt with anyone while slappers will tart themselves up like prostitutes and almost make blowjob gestures at any boy they fancy.

She said she was dissapointed about not being nominated for the Mercury awards. Well I'm pretty sure they want to have singers being up for their award, not little girls speaking words that happen to rhyme.

That isn't singing.

Max, it's an article of journalism. You give it far, far more credence than it deserves.
