The leader of the Lib Dems needs to have a look in his local paper property section. When asked about his proposed tax increase on massive homes he said the person in a ?10m mansion gets away with paying the same Council Tax as someone in a ?750k family home. Where the chiff, apart from Wentworth, Chelsea and Sandbanks does a family have to lay out ?750k for a home?
Oop North you buy a perfectly pleasant 3 bed terrace, modernised to the hilt for ?175k and get a 4 bed detached for ?250 tops. What planet is this smug tosser on?

Arginald, most houses in London cost more than that now.

Err which areas of London are you talking about? I mean a normal family, not stock brokers or Lloyd's Names. I work in housing and know the score.

!cool!
The Liberal fucking twatting Demofuckingcrats can say what they fucking like because no way will they be able to impliment their proposals.
They, like all politicians, are in cloud fucking cuckoo land. They have no idea of what normal working taxpayers are having to put up with due to their collective greed and incompetence. I left school at 15 had a couple of crap jobs and then joined up. Since coming out I have had some good well paid jobs and at present I pay higher rate tax so that Gordon fucking Broon can give it, and all the rest paid in by other honest hard working taxpayers, to all the unwanted idle bastards who shouldn't be here in the first place.
Pissed of, moi? You better fucking believe it shipmates.

This proves that the political class are completely out of touch with the ordinary Joe's and Josephine's.

Arginald, implying that it is only areas inhabited by Lloyds Names and stockborkers which have houses costing 750k is not correct. To buy a house anywhere in London will cost you that. A small modern place built as part of a 1980s development on land that used to be railway sidings in somewhere like Wembley or Deptford would be cheaper - probably 300-350k. A Georgian family home with a garden, and this isnt huge but just average size, in somewhere like Peckham, Hackney, Acton, or where ever, will set you back over 750k. You would be lucky to find a one-bedroom flat in a Victorian terrace conversion in one of those recently gentrified, former working class areas, for less than 250k.
