Is Gordon Brown going blind?

This was on the news today, although he has denied it. It is well known he only has use of one of his eyes, but it was suggested today that, and this is on top of all his other problems, he might go blind soon. I dont like him but I would certainly never wish blindness on anyone. If he can't see then he will have difficulty counting the millions of pounds he will make from next Spring onwards - after he is kicked out of office at the Election and then goes and earns a fortune trading off all the connections he made whilst in politics.

If Gordo goes gracefully now, there will have to be a General Election because it would be not be right to have a coronation of someone who just fancies becoming leader - rather than the election of that party and leader through the ballot box. It wasn't right last time when this ego-driven self-centred idiot just took over, and it certainly wont be toleated twice. So a General Election now, or one in 8 months, what's the differnce? They will lose either. I have had it pointed out to me many times on here that we elect a party and not its leader, but Blair promised to do 5 years and only did 2. This guy took over and would have had an election if he was going to win it. If they do it to us again, which I imagine would be unlikely, then the public will just have to tolerate it as we don't have a say in anything. Alan Johnson is as ego and career driven as Brown - and I imagine he regards democracy as just as much of an inconvenience to his desire to hold high office as Brown does. He might want to become PM next.

A Tory administration of austerity - with the emphasis on dealing with small time benefit frauds as opposed to big time tax thieves and scroungers- will be a hell incarnate indeed.
