As ambulance chasing lawyers are apt to say 'Where there's blame there's a claim'.
I'm with you. I once saw a girl asking for public help to pay off her credit card debt which was something like $25000 (say 13000 pounds). She claimed she wasn't to blame because the shops had turned her into a compulsive shopper with their incredible bargains and fashion items that she simply "had to have".
