Is there a date when VAT is going back to 17.5% ??

I thnk january but just wonder if this means the first or at the end of the month?

Am thinking of getting a laptop you see and wonder if its worth waiting till the january sales !

Its going back up @ 6.00 am on 1 Jan 2010 (just so your bar bill doesnt increase halfway thro your New Year piss up in the pub !).

I expect it will go up to 20% following the election some time next year.

There is a massive public sector deficit and the excuse for the tax increase will be harmonisation with the rest of Europe.

hmmm so the new year sales are looking like they are going to be shit.

Might be some deals I hope between boxing day and new year in that week.
