Britain = The British Isles and Brittany.
Brittany was referred to as 'lesser britain' and these isles 'greater britain'.
That's it really.
I prefer United Kingdom myself.

Here are just a few:-
Your British sense of humour.
The quality end of your TV dramas and comedies.
The Industrial Revolution.
Some of the best car designs still come out of Britain (pity you dont actually make them anymore!)
The late Paul Raymond.
Third world countries were far better off as colonies of The British Empire. Since gaining independence, most have collapsed into chaos.
Standing up to Hitler.
English confectionery is still sought after worldwide.
The Beatles, Stones and subsequently a whole army of bands that lead the way for contemporary music.
Jo Guest, Sam Fox, Maria Whittaker and heaps of other page 3 titty babes that looked far fresher and warmer than most US models.
A Royal Family that you can insult without getting your head chopped off (well not these days anyway).
Propperly made tea.
Old fashioned gentlemanly good manners which can still be found occasionally.
