I was thinking of getting a xbox to play battlefeild 2 on rather than playing it on my computer.
This would save having to get a better graphics card.
Doesnt have to be a new one

But do I need xbox 360 "live" for battlefild 2 ?

"Battlefield 2 : Modern Combat" on the 360 is not the same game "Battlefield 2" is on the PC, so if your used to playing BF2 and like how it is on the PC stick with that as the 360 version is a dumbed down version compared to the PC.

However if you do intend to purchase the Xbox and the game, you will need to buy an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play it online, otherwise with the standard Silver subscription (that you get free) you will be restricted to single player only.

Of course players from the PC version can not play against players on the 360 game as mentioned due to the fact they are completely different.

As far as the original post goes:

A Xbox Live Gold Account is only required if you want to play against other people online as well as extra bonuses.

If you dont plan to go online with your 360 then you dont need Xbox Live.

lol, opinions. I mean granted 99/100 story lines from video games are god awful, but I feel its more about the interactivity than anything else.
