which covered the whole sorry saga.

Its even worse. Iris Robinson got two builders to cough up ?25K each for her young lover to start leasing a cafe. And then wrote in favour of an application that one of the builders put forward for planning permission without mentioning her interest. She also took ?5K of the ?50K for herself.

When the relationship went tits up, she demanded the 45K back in two cheques, one to be paid to her church and one to be in her name to cover "expenses". Iris Robinson having quoted a chapter from Leviticus about homosexuality being an "abomination", mustnt have got around to reading another chapter in Leviticus describing adultery in similar terms.

Apparently Peter Robinson found out about all this and as mrmcfister says
kept shtum about it, apart from insisting that all the money should go back to the builders.

Cant see how Peter Robinson can stay as First Minister now. His defence "I have done nothing wrong" Now where have I heard that defence before?

Some have claimed that Peter Robinson's emotional interview this week, where he admitted his wife tried to kill herself, was done to cover up the leaking of other bad news about his wife - namely this bit of sleaze as described here. If that is true it is a very cynical thing to do, to come clean about something like that, and to be tearful whilst saying it, all in order to bury the other bit of bad news - something which clearly failed as all of that has now come to the fore anyway.

Mentally ill? A disgrace that people who really are get associated with scum like this woman who wanted money,cock and cheap thrills but sets herself up as a god fearing moralist.....therein lies the rub....
