Does anyone else here love big 'fuck-off' machine tools like plano millers that have big carbide insert face cutters ploughing through huge billets of tough He man steel and ripping off blue hot chips - flinging them away like Paris Hilton tossing away her skimpy gee string panties?

Sheffield and Glasgow probably would have had such machines building the mighty machines of defence years ago. Back then, hard bodied young men would manfully drive these mighty machines of British industry to slice, hammer, punch, forge, bend, crush, stretch and polish the output of England's blast furnaces into works of engineering art the envy of the world.

Alas those days are gone forever. But perhaps Paris Hilton could move to the UK, start her own heavy engineering factory and get British industry moving again. I'll discuss this with Gordon Brown next Saturday night at the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club meeting.

You should get out more.........Sheffield Forgemasters, IFA Ltd just two of the top of my head, the list is really rather long....

And you're right. I do need to get out more. Must get out more and look at machines.

I was very impressed with a tour around Harland & Wolf in Belfast in the 70's. When standing in the building dry dock underneath a ship in build you get an impression of "Fucking Hell, this is fucking big"!!
In the engine shop they were building a diesel engine and blokes were standing upright inside the crankcase! That is FUCKING BIG.
When built the two cranes straddling the dock were the biggest in the world. The view from the top is fucking awesome!!

Thanks for that link to an excellent edit of Benny Benassi's 'Satisfaction' vid. I also like 'Destination Unknown" from Alex Gaudino - it's a similar video clip that should really be watched alone (with yer pants around yer ankles).

Sounds very interesting. I'm really impressed with that stuff - all the daring and courage to build this equipment in the first place and hope you calculated everything right. That takes balls. Somewhat more impressive than some poof with a ponytail releasing his 'bold new range of hand bags' that seem to command all the media attention these days.

So, you aint got a poofy fuckin handbag then, I presume.
