Ungrateful little sod eh?

I remember seeing a movie/doco of Henry the 8th where he's discussing with his court which princess might be suitable for marriage to bear him a son. They mention some Euro-spunk and Henry asks "But she's 15. Is that too young for me?"

According to Wikipedia Henry 7th mother was Lady Margaret Beaufort.

It says she may have been born in 1443 and gave birth to Henry 7 in 1457 so she may have been 13.

However there is some debate about the year she was born and others think it was 1441 (accoring to Wiki), although that would still make her very young, about 15.

It says she was first married at aged SEVEN (or nine depending when she was born), but this was later annulled.

Of course in those days someone in their 30s was considerd old, so someone aged 15 or 16 was "middle aged" :-)

Well that is not too far removed from what happened with Prince Charles and Diana.

He was what 31 or 32, and she was an 18 year old virgin.

Nudge nudge, guess what mate, wink wink, she wasn't no virgin OK? (Usually voiced by the local pub know-all/loud mouth).

She "looked" a virgin which was good enough for the royal family.

Certainly more of a virgin than Camiila was, who Charles had wanted to marry well before he married Diana.

I'm far from being a monarchist but I do think that Diana would have been a virgin when the relationship with Charles started, although I do believe she made up for it in later years.

I recall a story told by my mother from the early/mid 1970's, about the daughter of a family that lived quite close to my parents. The girl a was a well born, but not a titled young lady, who's family were Staffordshire and Scottish farmers (and still are) and was very involved with Charles, her picture appeared quite often in the national papers and marriage was spoken of by quite a few gossip columnists. Then a story appeared in a monthly saterical magazine which claimed that this girl may not be as pure as was at first thought. Her father (now dead) set about sueing the magazine, the young lady was then flown over to a private clinic in Switzerland where various examination's was made. The results of which stopped the father from preceding with the planned court case.

She later married the younger brother of one of Charles very good friends and became a lady (?).
