BAE

Some posters here are very sensitive to the issue of public money being given to 'cheats' and 'scroungers' in the form of benefits. I would ask them to speculate how much public money has been spent on this investigation over the last six years. BAE are liable for a ?30 million fine in the UK, part of which will go to Tanzania in the form of a charity payment.
Whether or not their are court costs payable in addition to this ?30m is unclear; probably not because it seems they're not admitting wrongdoing as such and the case never reached court yet there is at least 6 year's worth of work by the SFO and others.
Look at the bigger picture of what public money is spent on. You might find the 'benefit cheats' are the tip of the iceberg.
