Greece is going bankrupt...

Apparently Gordon The Ego and other European leaders are spending today trying to sort this out. It is good that countries in Europe have this cross-border liaison to the extent of trying help solve extreme problems like this. I don't know what will happen if Greece can not solve it's financial problems though, it is not as if the rest of Europe could help as all other countries are skint. Britain is now nearly ONE TRILLION pounds in debt.

Can anyone speculate as to what may happen if Greece can not sort this out, its effect on the Euro in general, and what this may mean for the debate about whether other countries (like us and others) should eventually join the Euro or not? One thing is for sure: the Murdoch Press, especially The Sun, will be telling us now about how they were right that us joining the Euro was NOT a good idea.

Murdoch will be sitting there on his Thunderbirds-type island smiling at the effects this will have on the Euro, in a kind of 'I told you so' sort of way...

Well Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain are known collectively as the Pigs (initial letters), and these were always countries with economic problems.

Italy is often replaced by Ireland in PIGS above.

Iceland's problem is that it tried to become a country with a large banking industry, and failed, which left it bankrupt.

But the UK is (or was) a country with a strong economy (credit AAA rating) which Brown is doing the best he can to destroy.

So the UK is the odd one out in that the others are NOY EXPECTED to have a strong economy, the UK is.

"But the UK is (or was) a country with a strong economy (credit AAA rating) which Brown is doing the best he can to destroy".

The above sentence is nonsense.

First, this view is not even shared by some members of the Tory Shadow Cabinet.
http://www.labourmatters.com/Editor/tor ... recession/

In addition, Osborne's plan to cut ferociously and more quickly than Labour has been criticised by the majority of independent observers to the point that the Conservatives have now decided to back pedal at a rate of knots and now take a completely different line i.e. very few cuts in the first year etc.

Second
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8511954.stm shows that even the German economy renowned for its prudent government did not grow at all in the last 3 months of 2009 and that the economy in the entire Eurozone only grew 0.1 %.

Thirdly, if you in reply start bleating about Brown just throwing money at the problem, you may wish to review the IMF table here.

The debt to GDP ratio, looks equally horrendous for the UK as it does Germany and France, but not as bad as the US and nowhere near as appalling as Japan. Look at the 2014 estimate and the UK is pretty much at the G20 average.

Fuck em.

Unfortunately though it looks more and more likely that the UK will be handing over millions of our tax quids to help these fiddling bastards.
EU?
The sooner UKIP gain enough strength the better and we can remove our selves from this Franco German conspiracy to do to UK what the bastards failed to do over several hundreds of years of getting their arses kicked.
The French are a race and so are the Germans, so, I suppose this makes me a racist.

25th Jan Eu 250 cost me ?238-70 @ 1-062
16th Feb Eu 250 cost me ?228-17 @ 1-115
So, buy em if you can and are going to holiday in a EU country because this stupid fucking currency is not going to dissapear overnight.
Don't forget, that Nationwide has announced that they will charge for using their plastic abroad. So, it seems that no plastic is free to use abroad and if the rate is good it will be better to buy your Euros here.

Thanks for that.
I was afraid of being labelled racist.
I don't mind being xenophobic as long as it's the Frogs and Krauts.
