Having an evening of nothing to do. 'Storm' on a shoot and the kids in bed - I just spent ?3.99 on sky box office and watched Quentin tarantino's 'Inglorious Basterds' - good film , yeah if you take your brain out, watch it and dont try to analyse it - on a par with the Kill Bill's, Pulp fiction or the Hilarious 'from dusk till dawn' , I dont think so.

The fantasy of the third reich basically coming to an end because of the massacre in the cinema was a bit far fetched to say the least... but would have been really cool if factual.

so, in the spirit of forum debate - what is your favourite QT film and why - for me 'from dusk till dawn' will take some beating - the immortal lines of 'we got every kind of pussy, pink pussy , black pussy, dirty pussy etc etc ' just cant be beat...makes it a modern classic.........

Technically Dusk Till Dawn wasnt Quentin Tarantino..Though I can forgive you for thinking it is becuae he was a major influence in it happening but kudos for that film must go to Robert Rodriguez who also directed Desperado

Just because it says its A Band Apart (Tarantinos company) it is really at the helm of Rodriguez. QT did star in it though as Clooneys pervy brother.

So best QT movie has got to be a toss between Puip Fiction and Jackie Brown for me (though I thought it was waaay too long)...Ok then Kill Bill part one.

Inglorious Basterds took libertys with history but Tarantino likes to break rules. Loved it loads. Not Pulp, Dusk, Jackie or Kill Bill which is why I liked it even more

Dusk til dawn wasn`t really a Tarantino movie. He wrote up til they get to the titty twister. The good part was written by Robert Rodriguez.
Tarintino`s massively overrated and doesn`t write, he steals whole chunks from other movies.

I liked it alot, myself. Definitely more than Kill Bill(s). Sure it wasn't historically accurate by any means. I think the shootout in the tavern alone makes it a good movie

I'm not sure do I really have a favorite Tarantino movie... but definitely not Kill Bill.

I stand corrected sir (actually sitting on the sofa) I can but blame the copious amounts of Stella artois for the said 'producer' error.

Having managed to google, you are quite correct that the praise for that film should go to Mr rodriquez.

I had actually forgotten 'Desperado' and have to agree that the tavern shoot out was pretty cool - I was quite impressed by the rocket firing guitar case that one of his mates had (technically on par with the missle firing by rambo thru the helicopter window) but again like so many of that type of film - sit back and enjoy.

Reservoir Dogs. The scene where they're all sat in the cafe arguing about tips always cracks me up.

Tarantino stopped trying to be hip and cool for once and just let the actors act. He picked a great cast, didn't try too hard to be clever with the dialogue or flashy set pieces, didn't go for any memorable moments, and he actually made a proper film that hangs together.

Excellent film and good to see a well deserved BAFTA for best supporting actor going to Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa.
