Mr. Slip - you have my sympathy and it's interesting because down here in the penal colony, they've been showing Benny in half hour lumps at 7:00pm 5 nights a week.

They've shown the 'highly offensive' scenes with Hill as Idi Amin and various characters that are now considered sacred. They even had the Hill's Angels routine with one dancer dressed like a fantasy schoolgirl and lots of scenes with fat-cracking babes wearing not much. They've actually portrayed sexy girls as SEXY GIRLS!!!!!! (Faints).

I'm guessing that if UK TV is anything like ours, there is probably no shortage of shows featuring glorified violence, and somehow these will be considered OK. The thought police are a weird mob. No one actually knows who they are, yet they are all powerful and answer to no one.

It's interesting how many people still complain to this day about Benny Hill and all his supposed sexism and crappy routines, yet he can still be relied upon to bring in decent ratings figures even after all these repeats.

I think my favourite Hill scenes are when he plays a bad tempered, disinterested waiter or similar and treats Jackie Wright like shit. I saw a restaurant sketch like that last week and it was still pissingly funny.
