I have no brief to support the police. The sooner the government reduces the form filling so the police can be spending their time much more usefully out and about rather than keeping warm in the office filling in paperwork, the better as far as I am concerned.
However, inflation was running at 3.5% in January and the way fuel prices are going up it's difficult to see inflation coming down much. With that in mind, a 2.9% award for the police round your way is a reduction.
