It is of course the 'British' way to only see good in people and to want to help, but when the hand is constantly bitten, it must be time to consider the facts and debate certain things without the fear of being branded racist.

Is this another place where aid sent doesnt get delivered to those that need it? People starve as criminals line their pockets ..... I think aid should go through the UN or some such,with stringent controls over who stores and transports and then distributes ..as it seems SO MUCH aid goes astray in the process .... sarah is !furious!

Yes, sorry, was not hijacking your thread, realised that I did not really answer what you had posted.

Not sure that holding back aid would have any effect on the problems you mentioned or help with getting that couple released. The greater problem now appears that we have a huge number of people living here for whom life has always been cheap and for whom a propensity to sickening violence is just a way of life.
