anyone not workinging in public sector?

Went to a dinner party last weekend... as the evening went on I realised that I was the only one working in the "private" sector...
For example there was 2 class room assistants, one nurse, a couple from the local council who couldn't really explain what they did, a teacher, a PCSO, 2 local BBC radio people... and finally a fully qualified accountant who wanted a easier time in his early 50's... works now for the local NHS trust!....
Oh and Mrs Von Boy works as a school secretary!
Thank you...

I wonder if they had job titles like 'Strategic co-ordination analyist' or 'Cultural Sensitivity Integrator'. I work in a workshop which is surrounded now by offices where, as far as I can tell, fat ladies produce reports which contain lots of statistical data which is printed out into huge stacks of paper reports which is then stored for years without being read, and then pulped.

I am an engineer and I work in the private sector and part of my job is to inspect lifts in government buildings. I have found that the only ones who know what is going on and where anything is are the security personell in these sites.
When I go in our Town Hall I have to bite my tongue when I have to walk through the offices of all the unelected and unwanted useless fucking arseholes who are Council Officers. Also when I walk through the offices in the DHSS sites I visit I feel like punching some of these underworked over fucking zealous under achieving shitheads.
Though I am paid fairly well for my efforts. I know that I earn considerably more than most ordinary grade civil servants and council officers. It's only the top fucking idiots who get the big bucks.
Fuckem all I say. Sack the lot and make them work in the private sector to see what work is all about. Give all the public sector jobs to ex servicemen and wimmin.

Be careful not to ever say anything to any of these 'hard workers' otherwise they'll get 6 months off on full pay for stress leave, and you'll probably be ordered to attend lectures by someone who looks like a freak-circus exhibit to learn how to 'respect diversity and control your prejudices'.
By the way, I would say that the sexiest looking girls seem to work in the private sector. You don't see many strippers, catwalk models or bikini dancers working in the Government do you?! (well not since the 'expenses scandal' broke)

Maybe you should re-title your post to -----
Anyone not employed in public sector. Most of the public sector staff I see do very little resembling work.

Because security personnel tend to be ex-forces and are vigilant/paranoid like yourself Rodders

One man's paranoia is another man's being prepared !

Surely that is sexist. If I went to work in my shorts and my high heeled safety boots, I would be frowned upon---- except by one person, but even though he's the other way inclined ,he's still a mate.

Two things here a) Depending on how good a mate he is,why not treat him and b) "High heeled" safety boots...Er,you sure about that?
