Five Daughters

Been watching this over the last three days about the 5 girls murdered in Ipswich.

Hard to watch at times but I thought it did a great job of showing the victims as friends, daughters, loved ones despite their horrendous problems, rather than just concentrating on them as drug addled prostitutes which I seem to recall much of the press treating them at the time.

Well acted throughout. Good stuff, Beeb!

Cheers

Not seen it yet. I'm recording all 5 episodes (I presume it's 5) to watch all in one go at a later date.

Glad to hear that they portrayed those girls as the real living breathing individuals that they were.

I agree with you David about the drug adled comment. Its far more interesting and intelligent to show these girls as people than the 2 dimensional stereotype the media offered them as "dead prositutes" and I am downloading it from BBC iPlayer as we speak.

Those women meant something to the people that missed them and probably still do every day and for a long time if not forever until they die.

Just watched the first one.

Nice to see Jaime Winstone isnt afraid of playing earthy parts like her old man.

I can imagine her with a snooker ball in a sock saying: "Whose the Mummy now now eh?"
