I remember this when it happened, I remember watching the news each days and seeing that square on London, St James's Square I think, being closed off and Police marksmen on rooftops pointing at the Embassy while those scumbags remained inside. It was particularly awful when the people inside where allowed to freely leave and then exit the country. All of that week PC Yvonne Fletcher's Police hat lay in the road, you kept seeing shots of it on the news.

I vaguely recall being involved in this. I signed some of the documents relating to the expulsion of the diplomats. Just about the only (rather minor) part I've played in history and only because I was skiving in a corner of the office.

I think the Yanks should bomb the fuck outta Tripoli again.

Remember seeing some rare video of her actually being shot she is talking lucidly for a a while then the true damage done revealed itself.

I also watched this, and recalled being sick at the sight of those greasy bastards casually strolling out the embassy KNOWING the were untouchable.
You can bet your last ? that whilst Libya has the oil, the west will do anything to appease them.
The SAS should have gone in and slotted the lot of them.......however, tit-for-tat would be even worse for british diplomats in Tripoli.......and any other embassy that Libya has contracts with
