night sky

If anyone is interested i just noticed a white dot in the sky looking south east and im sure its jupiter,have a look cloud depending.

Nearly. It's very bright because it's both Jupiter and Uranus almost in alignment.

Related to this, you have a good chance of seeing Mercury this next few weeks. You'll only be able to see it just before sunrise and it's in the east near the horizon. Because Mercury and Venus are closer to the sun than Earth we can only get glimpses of them just before sunrise or just after sunset....and not for long. Sheffield is very hilly, though, so I don't get good views towards any horizon !sad!

Indeed it is Jupiter. Have a look at this site for an easy to use night-sky map.

Even with a pair of not very good binoculars, like mine, you can clearly see several of Jupiter's moons to either side of the main body.
