Just remembered a British Girl connection. I'm sure there was a news item years ago about Debbie Ashby going on holiday with him.

RIP Tony Curtis.
Great actor of many memorable classic movies and will be most remembered for that classic line that has annoyed many for decades...
"I'm Spartacus"
"No ..I'm Spartacus"
"He lies! I'm Spartacus"
"Then I'm Spartacus too"
"What??? The sequel???"
"We're all Spartacus. What the fuck you goona do aboor-it koont!"
"Yo wuddup man. I'm Spartacus fool"
....I think you get the point. (ad lib and fade)
Tony Curtis and Roger Moore and that classic John Barry tv theme The Persuaders was the essence of tv cool

I remember the Debbie Ashby story.
My memory is that Tony invited Debbie to stay with him for a few days in his Hollywood mansion.
This was when she was a Top Page 3 Girl with a knock-out body.
I recall she said in an interview about it later she said she spent all the time swimming in his pool in her bikini.
All he did all day was sit at the side of the pool ?looking at her?.
I thought, I can relate to that.

Who can forget The Black Shield of Falworth, where he delivered the classic line, 'Yonda lies da castle of my farda' in the Olde Saxon-Bronx accent he made his own in that film.

He was an absolute gentleman as I recall. I met him on a BTS shoot for a film he was in in the early 80s. We were the last to get an interview and all the other journos and snappers were making a racket. He turned in his chair and shouted ' Hey you lot, shut da fuck up, dees guys are tryin' to film ova here'.

I wonder if Heather Mills will lay claim to his estate? After all, she taught him how to act and got him his first roles.
