They have introduced measures to protect buyers but not sellers.
I sold a rare coin and a chap bought it but never paid.Ebay said there was nothing they could do(i didnt post it)
This buyer then did the same to another seller but it gets worse
NOW SELLERS CANT LEAVE NEGATIVES BUT BUYERS CAN.SO ITS WIDE OPEN TO ABUSE.
I SOLD A RUSSIAN DRINKING CUP(CIRCA 1920),..THE BASTARD WHO BOUGHT IT PAID BUT THEN LEFT ME A NEGATIVE TO SAY IT WAS MADE IN SHEFFIELD.IVE NO COMEBACK AS HE WONT RETURN IT AND EBAY WILL DO NOWT.
SO MY NAME IS TARNISHED,HIS LOOKS DANDY.........HE LIVES IN LUTON SO PROB THINKS HES SAFE.GAWD HELP THE LITTLE TWAT WHEN I VISIT HIM A WEEK ON SATURDAY

ebay stopped sellers from leaving negative feedback for buyers a while ago (I could never understand their reasons for doing so) but the bottom line is that ebay today is crap compared to when I started using in in 2000, and it's been going downhill for years, especially if you're a car boot-type seller.

Back then it was still what it was originally intended to be - a virtual flea market / car boot sale, and fees were still reasonable.

But then when it started getting big, the suits and the moneymen moved in and took it over, and its original purpose got lost in the mix. End result: ebay aren't interested in attic-clearance folks any more, they just want bulk sellers and big stores on there. Which is why they've tried to squeeze out the little guys by periodically increasing their fees so that it won't be worth their while.

There are other aspects of it that they've tinkered with as well to the detriment of sellers.

Of course they come out with guff about it being to "improve the trading experience" but that's all bollocks of course. They're only interested in their profit margins and big bonuses. Greed rules.

I still buy on there occasionally, but rarely sell. It's just not worth it any more.

It's a well known fact, that every ebay seller is as honest as the day is long and it's only the buyers who are dodgy.
I'm maybe biased, and I was obviously ripped off by an honest trader.
