I was a Civil Servant for quite a few years for a major Government department based just a stone's throw from Parliament Square and I can tell you that this thing of politicans fiddling their expenses is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Westminster corruption. You just never hear about it when it is done by Civil Servants. Vast numbers of them are as bent as hell and make the politicans almost look honest!

Tell me about it, my accountants, go through my expenses with a magnifying glass, eg if I have a poxy Pizza Express within 5 miles of where I live I get the, "The Inland Revenue will never wear it, I mean you could have been having a pizza for your own enjoyment, rather than subsistance on a shoot, ooh they'll have yer guts for garters!"

Meanwhile these "Peers of the Realm" fleece a fortune all in the public eye and get a slap on the wrist with a d and a wink. If the Coalition is going to stamp on benefits cheats and scroungers, then they MUST stamp on the Establishment crooks as well!

I remember last year seeing a sign on a newsagents window saying, "Only 2 MP's allowed in the shop at any one time!" lol
