Finding embedded code for webpages

Folks
I am doing a profile page and blog on another site and including videos that are on youtube.
I want to do the same thing but to include photos of items without going to another site.
To stick the youtube stuff in the page I just stick the embedded code in and it works.
How do I find the same embedded code for photos? Does it depend on the site they are on or can you just not do it unless the site is youtube format? (ie right click and the option is available - if that makes sense)
The items are wishlist items and I don't (if possible) want to use links just the image.
Its a struggle with my limited pc knowledge any tips are welcome.

Andy,
You can do it this way if you are using Firefox (not sure if you can also do the same with Internet Explorer?).
First of all, go to the image you want to use on the site it's held on.
Right click on the image and from the drop down menu choose either:
"Copy Image Location" which will give you the link.....like this
[img]
http://www.nude2rude.com/image.php?f=DS ... =600&w=800[/img].
Or....."Save Image As" which allows you to "download" the image onto your PC which you can then re-upload to your blog.
Of course, with the latter (in fact with both), you should obtain permission from the copyright owner to do this.
Hope this helps.

Cheers Pete
and yes I agree with the owners permission.
I am doing a page mixed with vids and products the vides can just be stuck in but when I use links for the photos they are just coming up as the link and not the picture;
I'll try the one you have used on this thread on this page:

and just got the link.
I am assuming you need to put code around the image but that's all I know.
Think numpty sat at a pc and that's my pc skills.
I'd give up but would rathern learn

You've almost got it Andy.
For the photos you need to put the links between "tags" for it to work.
A lot of forums and blogs use the tags [ img] and [ /img] (WITHOUT spaces) for photo links.
So, you would use [ img]
http://www.nude2rude.com/image.php?f=DS ... =600&w=800 [ /img] (WITHOUT spaces) to link to the photo.
Leaving out the spaces will then provide the proper link.......

Give it a try !thumbsup!.

Pete as you've (hopefully) seen I've got it working but it's only on this site.
On the one I am trying to stick it on (I am not doing the blog until I've mastered what to do) I just get the code [ img] [ /img] around the link.
Not using the spaces obviously. I tried the one I am trying to use and the one above (which I hope was OK and was deleted soon as).
Not sure if it makes any difference or not but the site I am practising on is my own profile on myfreecams.
and yes I am using firefox.

They may use different "tags" then Andy?
If the site has any FAQ's have a look through to see if that gives you any help.

If the site uses raw HTML for links, the proper code, between less than () signs is:
img src="full URL of the image file"
I don't think you need a corresponding /img tag at the end.
The space between IMG and SRC is intentional as are the quotation marks.
Hope that helps.
