Mr Monkey's Twitter account...

All this stuff about how Twitter is being taken to Court and being instructed to reveal information about who is really behind a certain (supposedly) anonymous account. Do they really think that someone who calls himself 'Mr Monkey' (which is what he did call himself) would have registered for the account with his real details? I think not. You can call yourself 'Peter Smith' in the sign-up and say you live at 1 Parliament Square, London, SW1, when you are really called Jerome Cavendish and you live at The Old Vicarage, 17 Newton Street, Penzance, Cornwall (for example). What is the point of asking the Twitter lot to reveal info about an account that is bound to have bullshit details?

Well it seems that he did and they have!
Turns out he's a councillor himself. There is nothing like local government for hatred and deceit, and that's usually in the same party.

Has anybody any idea of the costs of launching a civil action in a Californian court? It's a bloody fortune!
But no problem for New Labourites, South Tyneside Council, who are of course experts in the art of squandering other peoples money! Welcome to New Labour's answer for EVERYTHING, if in doubt squander as much money as possible!
Why aren't these sods launching their own indvidual cases for libel instead of getting the council tax payer to fund them?

It does seem odd if someone wants to operate under a secret handle to give all of their real details in the Twitter sign-up.

Never underestimate the stupidity of politicians. In my local authority two of the councillors were e-mailing "anonymous" letters to the local press about how awful the council leader was (and they were all in the same party, naturally). Trouble was, they used their council issued laptops, and were amazed to be found out by the council's iT department. Who'd have thunk it?
