Has it been a conscious decision to have the forum set up to show posts in strict ORIGINAL posting order or is it just the way it has happened? I would personally find it easier if posts were ?bumped? to the top when a reply is posted, so that threads are listed in LATEST posting order. This would ensure that all the more active threads stay on the front page; many interesting topics seem to get forgotten about when they drop off the front page and belated responses to questions never get noticed by the original poster. Not a criticism, just a question.

although, it must be emphasised, the proprietors of bgafd towers cannot guarantee that anything along the the lines you describe will occur within the curtilage of the forum, in what may be arbitrarily considered the near future, given the extant life expectancy of a typical forumite and after making sufficient allowance for the widespread and deleterious effects of prolonged self abuse among our membership, there is a clear and present possibility that such an alteration to the current configuration may indeed eventuate, contingent upon the verification of a matrix of a sufficiently robust and equanimous disposition, so as to ensure that it does not interfere in any way with the optimum functionality of the existing plexus.

I suspect it's to do with the way the forum software works. I've been involved with other forums (nothing to do with porn etc.) and we've used Ultimate Bulletin Board and, currently, vBulletin - both of which show topics in order of new posts made. So those topics that are still active are towards the top of the page, while old ones sink slowly to the bottom.
