Depends on who your hero's are. Times were different back then but certain kinds of 'alleged' behaviour back then is nowadays socially unacceptable and punishable retrospectively.

I think you will find that a lot of what some men are now being charged with (statutory rape for example) was illegal back then, it just that nobody in officialdom seemed to be that much bothered about it.

Funny I was only thinking of him last night while listening to Peter Hammill didn't he give a sheep the kiss of life around 1977?
