If you had been following this forum before-with that kind of money to spend Im sure all the folk here would say, don't bother.
Just treat us ALL to a party, have a few girls around, and get some drinks in for us lads..
You would become everyones friend overnight..
Ten grand would just cover putting the certificate on your product in anycase.
Get the drift!

I can't believe you can't shoot a porn film for 10K. I can (and regularly do) make 90 minutes of terrestrial television for that, including studio hire, famous presenters, tapes and travel, camera and gallery crews, a full-time research/production staff of half a dozen and central London office overheads.

A girl presumably costs under a grand for a scene, blokes maybe half that, so you're looking at around 5K for performers. What else do you need? You can use your and/or a friend's home to film in, shoot everything yourself, maybe roping an eager chum for a couple of hundred cash-in-hand. Another couple of hundred for lube, tissues, clothes (if models are not using their own). That's it.

The questioner clearly stated "10K to shoot" the film only, but you can even add all the post-production and come in under that, even if you don't have any of the necessary equipment. How much would it cost to start from scratch? A little over a grand for a reasonable DV camera with firewire plus a camera light; a grand for a computer; a few hundred quid on software (Premiere and Goldwave are all you need). If you want music (and why would you) and a fancy title sequence, you can do them yourself on freeware software/trial versions. Even if you have to hire someone it shouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred (I have never paid more than ?75 for a tune or ?120 for a graphics sting). You master back out onto DV and Bob's (or should that be Ben's) your uncle.

You can even add the ?1200-odd BBFC fee and come in on budget. Of course duplication etc is a different matter but we are just talking about making the film here, not marketing and distributing it.

If Brit porn producers say it costs them more than 10K to shoot a film, they are either being incredibly profilgate or they are exaggerating a tad to deter others from entering the business and justify the end-cost of their products to us consumers.

Thank you for explaining why so much terrestrial TV is crap.

Assuming that is meant to comma and not s full stop between the second and third zeros then my answer is yes - depending on what you are capable of doing yourself then it could be a lot less.

If you want some pointers drop me a mail
