O/T Urgent bad news for all adult webmasters

All adult webmasters should be aware that a new regulation to be introduced by Visa means that anyone using a third party cc processor such as Ibill, CCBill etc must pay a registration fee of $750 then $350 yearly after to be able to accept Visa cards on their site.
Many would already be aware of this as CCBill are now popping up messages to this affect on the admin portal, more info from CCBil can be found at
There are still many unclear aspects, such as they state:
"Under the new VISA USA regulations, an IPSP will only be permitted to register Sponsored Merchants for processing if the Sponsored Merchant has their corporation based in the same Country as the IPSP?s Acquiring Bank for VISA transactions. i.e. CCBill currently has a banking relationship with an acquirer for VISA USA, and thus can handle high risk processing for any Sponsored Merchant based in the US."
I am not sure how this will affect those of us based in the UK, and have emailed CCBill for clarification - will let you know what is said.
Personally I think this is nothing but profiteering by Visa and the processing banks (who share the fees), but as always its the bigger boys who get richer while the little guy suffers.
CCBill state those who don't pay the fee from Nov 15th they will not be able to process Visa transactions.
Many thanks
Paul

Agreed Paul
Try and sell "tangible(adult)goods" online and u fair even worse.
High fees and v.limited options if u haven't got a merchant acnt.
Low fees with someone like Paypal.
But people who haven't used their service still baulk at the idea
of having to register with them b4 making a purchase on any paypal site.
Even tho it's a free,quick,once only procedure.
Then,of course,there's fraud/chargebacks !
"plse send cash,cheques,p.o.'s only to......." !!!

Have you tried filling in PAYPAL application form-nightmare on Elm Street time.
Kept rejecting my telephone number (I've had for 40-years)saying it was all 'lies'and as for password...concoct any term you wish, still is rejected..
Just send the dollars or contact them by other means with credit card details, otherwise nothing will ever get bought and we could talk about this forever.
You have to trust someone out there!

Guys,
Dont stress, dont panic, a solution for UK webmasters is available.
Cool Piranha run John Mason Studios, Eros5.co.uk and other websites via their US trading arm which has its own internet merchant accounts (IMA) and new processing facilities with Jettis as well as established facilities at Ibill. So we are a UK manufacturer but a US operator. This has massive benefits all round.
Cool Piranha USA Inc have paid the Visa and Mastercard fees for our processing of these cards through our own IMA. We can resell your site in a similar way to CCBill or Ibill do now for you but take a step further by operating your sites under license and hence under these rules Cool Piranha USA Inc which is a US company fulfills the obligations required. Hence you need not pay the Visa fee or the Mastercard one which Ibill / CCbill have not yet have needed to pass onto you.
Bottom line is it seems if you do not have a US based business then CCBill and Ibill or there peers will not be able to act for you to take Visa transactions. If you go to a UK bank to do this then you need to charge VAT given memberships are a VAT supply if made in the UK - this assumes you find a UK bank who will process for an adult business (they dont basically).
Cool Piranha having a US trading company can avoid all these issues for you.
Whats more we can maybe do it cheaper than you pay now AND possibly offer you hosting options too (its is a requirement that your server be US based for our IMA to be used).
So if you want to continue to accept Visa and you all know what Visa does Masrtercard follow, but you dont wish to set up a trading presence in the US then let us work with you becuase we have a US office, a toll free number, a named brand, an affiliate program to plug into.....
Email me
jackmartin@coolpiranha.com and we can see what we can do for you.

I assume this will also apply to Visa orders online for vids/DVDs?
If the sellers pass the increase on to the punters, this will be another blow for the industry.........

Sellers are struggling at the mo so I can't see them being to keen to absorb extra costs.

The're on a hiding to nothing: if they pass on the costs, they'll have reduced sales-volume, and back to sq.1.

which is part of Adult Check. Quite a few of us UK webmaster who have avs sites with AC have started to use them and I'm actually getting less denials with them compared to CCBill.
Another processor is At the moment you won't have to pay the $750 with them either..
