Can you folks let me know what you think of Clarkson as a presenter first, a
person afterwards ?
I ask because I see the BBC have seemed to have run out of red cards for him
and are not putting on "Top Gear" this week. Maybe you think he is right to
swing a fist at some snotty-nosed young producer, just out of university, full
of the latest Beeb political correctness ie a wanker....then again you may think
Clarkson is the complete prat.
I`m in two minds. He seems to have a big mouth, he says outrageous (ie non
PC things, which I love), he acts like a wally at times yet can create some out-
standing television (especially his excellent documentaries on the VC and the
Dieppe Raid).
The joke is that while the BBC obviously can`t wait to see him burn in Hell, "Top
Gear" is their biggest smash export, making ?350 million abroad. Even in little
old Hungary every hot girl and guy here with a car avidly watches "Top Gear"
- and Mr Clarkson`s dubbed jokes !!

When Katie Hopkins is tweeting in your defence, you know you're in deep shit!!!

It's difficult to distinguish "Clarkson the presenter" from "Clarkson the man" as they are one and the same... massive knobs. Typical public school boy. Typical Yorkshirman. Our TV schedules will be all the better without him.

to be diplomatic, i don't like clarkson for how he feels about one of my people (the welsh) and don't really like people who feel that way in general. i also don't like torries to much, but then again, i don't like talking politics because all it does is cause trouble and trouble is a thing i can do without.

'...ome snotty-nosed young producer, just out of university, full

In fact he is 34 and has been with the programme for 10 years. In addition he is an assistant, not full, producer which can mean a whole range of tasks from some directing to more menial tasks, none of which give anyone the right to allegedly assault someone however aggrieved they may be. No part of your erroneous description of the man precludes him from being treated with respect and decency by someone with great power on the production.

Clarkson speaks his mind and calls a spade a spade. That I like. But he is past his sell by date, as is Top Gear. I cannot imagine Mr May and Mr Hammond are very happy......

If he is found guilty as a result of the inquiry, his contract should be ended. He is the only person who was suspended so presumably, he was the only one swinging a punch.

I suspect if all the people who have signed an online petition, had been thumped by the star of a show they were working on or alternatively their partner or one of their kids had, they would probably take a different view of the bloke.

This is a similar situation to where the rumours of other TV celebrities about underage sex, were put to one side because of their "star, money generating stats" status.

If the inquiry is convinced that he assaulted the producer, he should go, no question.

You better watch yourself Arginald, I don't think you can use the word "spade" any more I think you must use "digging implement". As to Clarkson, I don't watch the programme very often but I think he is the man who makes it click. If the BBC want to sack him and lose millions of viewers it sort of shows the level of business management. We'll stick to our principles and lose millions of pounds --- who cares it's not our money.
