Making UK porn trendy o/t

Spearmint Rhino have made lap-dancing appear less tacky with its lavish and upmarket image, so what about porn shops? Let's face facts, they have a seedy reputation with most of the public and most of us won't go in broad daylight just incase your neighbour or relatives happen to see you entering while shopping. And there's no way the local WH Smiths is going to have h/c on their shelves for sale either (they refuse to sell porn mags!) Maybe the new chain of Adult Shops springing up in some UK cities are the answer? What do you gents and ladies think? Is there a chance porn shops will ever become acceptable? Or am I better off ordering on-line?

It's hard to make porn trendy here, its just sex, everyone does it but to view it is considered "taboo". Hopefully people will open up and understand that its just entertainment!!!Gus wrote:

Show me a porn shop with a range as good as,

and reviews on vids being offered like

and I'd consider shopping there.
Would be a bloody big warehouse.

When will sex shops be in....not in this lifetime
The fact that sex is taboo is probably no 1 but also some sex shops charge the earth and don't deliver what they promise.
As the internet expands they will become obsolete.
Most of their current clientele would be those that don't have internet access.

Maybe if UK follows the trends in the rest of Europe (yeah some hope I know)
The town I used to live in Germany had a mega sexshop the size of Tescos on the main drag right next door to McDonald's with no complaints from anyone.
Maybe if such establishments are based in Industrial areas with non-offensive frontage then surely even the most straitlaced Mary Whitehouse fanatic can't complain. Or can they.....

Of course they can....thats their hobby....saving the morally corrupted from the jaws of Satan...or something like that

We have a group in Australia...The festival of life, led by the Reverend Fred Nile that protests every year without fail at the gay & lesbian parade in Sydney. If he had his way all people of the non-heterosexual nature would be given aversion therapy I'm sure.

When these fanatics have passed away then acceptance in the wider community is a possibility.

You're probably right. It's just that after 7 years in more permissive societies I forget how unreasonable the righteous minorities can be. Come the revolution........

These people are attempting to lead you away from the path of sin and into the light of the Lord. Follow The Rev Magoo for he preaches porn and filth. Actually I have read the bible and read up on other faiths such as Islam and Judaism and there is no reference to porn due to the fact that it did not exist apart from murals on walls. Does it say anywhere in the bible or any other faiths guidebook that masturbation is wrong? I must admit I have not studied them so well but being english I was brought up with this idea that its dirty. Lets face it we all have the same hangups. How many of us would say to our parents/inlaws that we had just cracked off a load of jizz to a great sex vid? And why would we fear making such an admission? If sex and porn are OK then why cant we talk to our relatives about it? The answer is simple. We are told it is wrong and in our subconscious we all believe its dirty. I tried to buck this trend by openly talking about porn in front of my family and was made to feel a freak. Even my brother who steals my best porn took the moral highground and the bastard always pops round to grab a few vids off me when his birds got womens problems.

We are surrounded by hypocrites! If we want porn to be accepted then do what I did and stop hiding it. Leave your vids and mags on your table when visitors arrive. And when you visit family at Christmas dont forget to tell them about your latest order from Your Choice.

Here Endeth The Lesson. Go in Peace my Brethren. Oh..and shove a few coins in the collection for the church roof please (The Rev. Magoo is saving up for RR2 from YC which includes pissing on vhs BTW).

So the Net it is.
But I do like Hornetbloke's idea of an out-of-town and discreetly located porn superstore. Guys like me who usually have to wade past shoppers to see what the local pornshop has on offer won't have such a stigma attached to it. Yeh, great idea. Local residents or the council can't really object if its so low-key as to be virtually anonymous. Just the punters would know. And another good point that was made is that the smaller pornshops usually have rip-off prices. That's why I'm starting to shop muh more on the Net even though I heard the horror stories about shipment being lengthy or sometimes never arriving. I think porn will become trendy - eventually (can't give a timeframe though). We've got some really gorgeous girls in the business at the moment. So if Playboy can do it in America why can't the Brit pornmeisterss like Fiona Cooper, Ben Dover et al?
