I can't get Outlook Express to run, when I click on the desktop icon I get an error message 'Msimn has caused an error in MSOE.DLL. Msimn will now close.' I've removed OE6 and still get the same message with OE5.5, tried re-installing OE6 all with no joy. Don't email the solution for obvious reasons. Any suggestions?

Just a suggestion, but you might want to consider getting a Web-based email account for a backup. Yahoo is 4MB & easy to use. Pix open looking small & crummy but you can store an amazing 30MB in your Yahoo album (cant always access it tho). For viewing pix from groups etc., Lycos is hard to beat as it opens photos looking big & beautiful, & you get 5MB.Also easy to use.(I am assuming things are the same in the UK as the US of course.)

If you use Win98 there is a great programme that not many know about..

Go to Start>Run> then type in sfc and set it up. This does a complete system files check and asks you what to do if it finds a fault and hopefully this will help.

It's also a good idea to run this when ever you've installed or un-installed a programme..

We're getting pretty far afield here but I wonder exactly how many of these "secret" Start/Run commands there are.I found out about a new one (to me at least) from a mag today, winipcfg , that shows your IP addy online. There is one scanregw that "forces" a registry backup. Also dxdiag that has a whole set of diagnostic tests if you have DirectX installed. As we say in the South, "Was I sposed to be born knowin' that?".
