In a recent thread mention is made of a film set in a nudist camp. I have always been somewhat surprised at the lack of hardcore films using this subject, given its apparent suitabilty to weave a porn film around. Has anyone any knowledge of any good films with this setting?

The "nudies" came into being in the l950's, and it was a way to introduce nudity (topless at first, then bottomless) in a "healthy" setting. Since there was no sex involved, there was not much to get upside about.
Porn more or less is a built up, so if male and female partners are already naked, there is not much of a build up. On top of that nudist camps are really outdoor places with lots of people mulling around (families really), it would be difficult in that setting to have say a m/f screwing away, or 2m/1f doing anal or DP.
A lot of Private and VMD films are set in exotic locations, where sex happens on the beach, near waterfalls, rivers, on boats, etc.

Not European, but the first scene in Talk Dirty to Me 3 (1984) is set in a nudist camp. At least the original version is (released in soft form by Electric Hollywood in the UK with a diiferent title, probably with the word Splash in the title, as it was a take-off of the Darryl Hannah film). I haven't seen the partial remake which excised the Traci Lords footage. The French DVD is called Splash X.

I have seen the original film in question Alec.
While it may be set in a nudist colony, the setting looked more like a tropical vacation era (more Club Med than a real nudist colony). It was a hard-core take off of Disney's SPLASH, and Traci was the mermaid. I think she was replaced by Lisa DeLeuuew when it was re-edited after it was discovered Traci was underage.

What you say Len is true about many nudist camps, but some are little more than outdoor swinger clubs.
