Directors Nicholas Moore ? John Bird ? Joe D'Amato

This is slightly OT as it is about film directors, not actors, but please bear with me.
I was transferring my video of the 1996 Sarah Young/Rossana Doll film The Flying Doctors (aka Le Porcone Volanti) ? this is the film that contains Sarah Young?s DPP scene ? to DVD the other day (before it deteriorated any more) and I was reminded of this anomaly.
On the box cover it says the director is Nicholas Moore (Mario Bianchi), but on the actual film credit it says it is John Bird, which, from all the info I can find, is one of the names used by Joe D?Amato (which also is just one of the many names used by Aristide Massaccesi).
Does anyone have any idea on which is correct?
Is the director Nicholas Moore and the film credit is incorrect? It appears that the film was shot in Hungary around the same time that Sarah Young was there making other films with him.
Is it really Joe D?Amato even though the film credits him (John Bird) with not only the direction but the camera work as well?
Or did both directors actually interchange the name John Bird? ? Moore is, after all, credited with using the similar name David Bird.
In fact, even here on EGAFD Mario Bianchi (Nicholas Moore) is credited as being John Bird. No wonder I get a headache every time I try and figure this out.
