Don't know really.
I saw it on the Casanova label sbout 15 years ago (VHS, french dubbed), and from vague memory none of the female or male performers were particularly attractive or that the sex (anal) action was more than average.
In my view it was just an average film made by Bellocchio more or less at par with other movies he made at the time (for that label).
