Not overly surprised but I guess that was because there was a difference of opinion? Not interested in mud slinging but is healthy debate disallowed on here?

As to differences of opinion, it depends how they are expressed. Personal abuse results in either editing or removal of posts. Since I haven't seen the post in question, I can't say if that applies in this case.
