Mine as 'Educatrice pour jeunes salopes'; Widescreen DVD, hence the
distorted caps. The lighting was... 'eccentric' and the partial soft-
focus didn't help, I had difficulty adjusting the picture to get an
adequate AR on my widescreen TV [and which anyway I couldn't
replicate on my PC] and the subject-matter sometimes a little ripe
for my tastes. Aside from a look at 4989, Arianna in nice lingerie,
and the ever-competent Angelika, I was almost glad when it was
over.

Cast: 'Angelika Rain, Andrea Nobili, Cristina Drago, Franco Trentalance,
Luana Conti, Teo, Melissa Harley, Nicole Linn'. Five aliases for six
females, apparently.
Cristina del Drago does not appear; I assume the similar alias here
is a coincidence.

Sorry to drag this to the top from months ago, but I'm not certain that this was originally widescreen, though it may have been.

I've put up one of the captures of Arianna Salieri in which I cropped the top and bottom black letterbox borders and then adjusted the aspect ratio to 4:3. Before adjustment it was the equivalent of 800:415, but 16:9 would have been 800:450. I've also put up an image at 400:225 for comparison. Which of the two looks most realistic?



If the DVD was correctly authored to widescreen, Power DVD should automatically play it widescreen. You then have to adjust the capture ratio to avoid the equivalent problem of images in 4:3 being captured too tall

I think I understand all that....but as you know, compared
to you and many others I'm a mewling infant where video
equipment is concerned.
The two captures are a little 'Goldilocks'- to my eye the
lower [bottom] one is 'way too vertically-shortened; the first
[middle] is a tiny bit vertically-lengthened but much, much
more 'normal'-looking. Had I not known beforehand about the
AR adjustment, I doubt I would have noticed anything 'odd'
about the latter.

I'll have another play with the PowerDVD toolbox next time I
encounter anything 'widescreen'.....

Having played about with some of the other caps, 4:3 looks much too tall for XNK4989 and eventually I altered them by eye. 720:450 looked nearest for the new unknowns. Given the problems though I decided not to do any new ones for XNK4989.
