Recent forum subjects/canings

I have just finished reading several recent messages which included the persecution of Steven Doran. OK, he needs to brush up on a few things but I think this forum maybe losing touch with its goals. The Japanese have a ethic that states "If a mistake is made, correct the mistake, do not waste time finding out who made the mistake until correction is made".
My point is this, OK, so not all posters read the FAQ, nor do we all stick ridigly by it. But the whole point is to ask questions and then share information, or have I got it wrong?
I had a post removed recently and in retrospect, rightly so. I just think that a little flexibility can sometimes be beneficial.
I await the inevitable backlash.

I dont know where to stand on this but I did feel sympathy for Mr Doran. Perhaps I am just too nice. For all I know it could be someone winding us up but my instinct says otherwise. And I hate to see people pulling wings off flies.

Exactly.
I hope my (pretty few, AFAIK) replies to STEPHEN (at least have the manners to spell his name right.......Stephens do get TERRIBLY upset about this sort of thing, LOL) have been at least reasonably civil.
If not, I apologise.
