I'd like to draw attention to a couple of posts that were made here yesterday by Alec and woodgnome. Since the threads where these were posted have now slipped off the first page of posts, I think they need highlighting here for the benefit of anyone who has yet to see them.

These posts were made partly to address comments raised in response to woodgnome's rebuff of Stephen Doran's continual ramblings, but also as a general response to the ever increasing flood of o/t posts that we've been seeing here of late.

The views expressed in these posts reflect those of all of us involved in running this site.

I've read all these posts carefully(I hope) and on balance I think Stephen Doran is a troll.

I deliberatly waited before replying as I hate fighting (unless I am armed). Thankfully the wise forumites have not used this as an excuse to start a new debate. I regret ever sticking my neck out in the original topic. And my faith in humanity is restored now that the above has failed to create a furore.
