As I've said before, some of these performers act 'exclusively', in what to me
amount to little more than home movies. If a girl only fucks only her boyfriend
before the cameras she's not a pornstar, she's an exhibitionist.

That's true. A lot of them do perform exclusively with their partners, but there are also many who don't, including most of the ones on my list.

What irks me most is that sometimes the fact of 'exclusivity' only dawns upon
me slowly .
Then- irrationally or not- I feel somewhat cheated.
For example, I've only just realised that US cutie [well, cute at least before
the boob-job] Britney Foster only does/did it with Pat Myne. I can't escape the
feeling that this is vaguely dishonest. As I said, it's irrational- but then so

At least these days you have wider acces to movies and information which was not available to general porn audiences in the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's.
Way back then for a while I could not understand why Samantha Fox was nearly always paired with Bobby Astyr (who I must admit looked creepy repulsive, especially in PEEPHOLES).
I recall seeing a movie with Vanessa Del Rio (the title escapes now) in which she was visibly annoyed and antagnostic towards the creepy George Payne and only later discovered they were an item and that they were separating at the time the movie was made. Their interaction in the movie only made better sense when you understand the context in which it was made
Just look at the number of scenes and movies Tom Byron and Traci Lords were featured and paired in, am I to believe it was just pure coincidence or were these two an item? Who is going to tell you, and what/who are you to believe?
Then you have directors who are banging and are romantically involved with an actress (and there have been plenty of those). So when when you see her featured in one of his movies, was she chosen because she was best suited for the role or was it payback and simply a vanity issue (she and he get paid, and they both end up working together)?
What are we to make of Kelly Madison, who either only bangs her husband Ryan or frequently joins with him in a 3-some with another girl? He gets to bang other female talent, but she only bangs him or just female talent?
I agree it is irksome and often bordering on the dishonest. Why should such scenes excite and arouse us?

The Madisons are a good example.... I'm less down on them because, as you
say, they rather made a point of it and the 'Porn Fidelity' thing amounted, in
effect, to the exploitation of a new niche. Like you I find the advantages rather
one-sided, but I suppose if it works for KM then it's hard to carp too much [I
can't however think of any examples of the reversed, um, state of affairs-
despite polyandry having a long and noble sociological history*].

*A rather inaccurate term in this context- Anthony Burgess once pointed out that,
under the baleful influence of the Puritans with their Scarlet Letter, the Americans
long ago abandoned the idea of divorce as the wholly regrettable last-resort
surgical operation on a failed union; replacing it with easily-obtainable, rapid
and successive changes of legal partner, i.e. serial polygamy. Very much an
adherence to the letter rather than the spirit of the law, eh?
