So, it might sound stupid at first but I'm going to have a lecture about the 70's & 80's american and european porn movies, after the screening of the mainstream movie Boogie Nights.

So I' would like to know which actresses/actors name I should talk about in my lecture, where I might find any extra info, and which movie titles and possibly why. The timeline is 1970-1989. I asked on a different forum for the american stuff, now I hope I get to know the european ones.

For critical background information about the Euro porn industry, I don't know whether there are French or German books on the subject. I know there are a handful Italian books on the subject. There is some referencemade in EGAFD's home page, but the links may no longer work:

From my perspective I believe the French porn industry got its push and start with the screenings of American hard-core product at the Cannes film festival in the 1970's DEEP THROAT, . So much so that by mid-1975 France was staging its first sex film festival in Paris (with the first hard core feature films like EXHIBITION). Out of Austria-Germany came SENSATIONAL JANINE which did quite well when released on VHS in the USA. The blonde and busty Olinka was also one of the first French porn stars that was widely known outside her own country and many of her movies were alsdo released on video in the US.
Marilyn Jess and Brigite Lahaie were also enormously popular in their time.
In the early 1980's outfits like Laura Video and Video Marc Dorcel started to produce hc movies on video, when the French government imposed heavy taxes on movie exhibition.
There were a number of foreign movies in the 1970's which did quite well internationally and particularly in the US like the movies with Brigitte Maier like SENSATIONS (1975)by Lasse Braun, "The Kinky Ladies of Bourbon Street" and yes even bestiality movies like ANIMAL LOVER with the Danish Bodil Joensen.
If you have time (before the lecture) available and if you are near a library or have access to an old book store, you may want to look into back issuess of two French magazines that dealt with the French-Euro erotic and hc movies like Eroscore and Stars System, that published in the 1970's. As well there was a publication called "La Revue du Cinema" which published an annual compilation of its movie reviews (including XX-rated movies) called "La Saison Cinematographique". This pubblication is often cioted in some of the old titles in the EGAFD database. An american monthly publication (which is now defunct I believe, but was one of the best in that field) was "Adam Film World", and it did deal with American as well as Euro hc movies.
More than that you have to clarify what you really want to know for the time period you are interested in
