Let's be frank. It is not often their real choice. Let's call them "market" conditions (you know the adage that bigger tits bring bigger paychecks), and peer pressure from other performers (who already have them, and misery likes a lot of company) not to mention on occasion pressure from an agent or porn studio to get bigger boobs to "improve" their looks and paycheck.

JJ you only need to see what girls do to their bodies as they turn 14.
Bleached hair (with colors that are not found in nature), tattoos, piercings and assorted fishhooks over lips, nostrils, eyebrows, ears, belly-buttons, labias. Then they soon progress to botox for lips and what have you. How far are fake boobs?

Once upon a time it was just trailer-park tramps and porn performers. Now there are more movie/music and general "celebrities" who go under the knife for face and breast enhancements.
I don't know in what era I have found so many female and male porn performers with so much (ugly) ink allover their bodies.
Women don't want to look "old" as they turn 20-30. Men have been abusing the plastic surgery enhancements to a horrifying degree.
Why should we be surprised that a young porn performer in her 20's goes under the knife? If she strips and escorts (and there are many) it's practically a "necessity".

that gets crossed too often nowadays been beautification [alleged or otherwise]

The problem with "adornments" in porn performers (who must appear naked throughout a sex scene) is that they should not be ugly or overly distracting. So if the boobs are gigantic and the actress has to continuously cup/hold them or else they would just fly off her chest, it lessens the enjoyment of the scene.
The worst part is seeing them when actress is in doggie. The boobs develop folds and hang there like two dead weights. Not pretty.
The same with the form and placement of the tattoo. If it is an ugly tattoo and placed in a strategic place of her body (near the vagina, over the ass cheeks), hell your eyes keep zeroing in on that nasty tattoo and it becomes a total turnoff.
If they are dacing with that kind of body on a stage, around a pole, in muted and colored lighting, perhaps it may not be too noticeable. But on a porn set, where the lights are strong and all the clothes come off in the first few minutes of a very long scene, that is a real wood killer.
