I presume that the girls are sisters and it has been around for some time. It has infiltrated the 'underage' community [which suggests one of the girls is 15 {at time of shooting} - but not reliable, I have seen 23 year old women posing as 10 year olds!!!].
I believe it comes from quite an old movie [circa late '70's early '80's].
Sorry I can't be more precise.
