Hi All,
Does anyone know if there a trading standards that deals with the modelling side of things(I having terrible trouble with a certain modelling business who owes me money for assignments and now enough is enough)
So i want to take action against them( i could use my attorney but i only want to use him as a desperate last minute if this plan doesn't work plus he quite expensive as well for hiring his services)I am pissed off with the petty excuses every 2/3 weeks of bullshit i am getting from this particular business whenever i phone them(i even lost count how times i wrote official final notice letters to them for monies owed to me)So now basically i want to give them a dam good sharp shock for basically screwing me about

I am after a contact number or website or a postal address of a trading standards.

Cheers

Carl you will have to look for your local trading standards office which youwill find in the business section of your phonebook.

In my previous dealings with them then then you ring an 0845 number and nearly always get an answerphone and they do always ring you back.

Whether they can help you with this debt then I have no idea but they will be able to guide you in the right direction.

Alternatively the Citizens Advice Bureau will be able to advise you on debt recovery.

You may not want to take legal action but unfortunately it may be the only way.

Hi Carl

My advice would be to issue your own proceedings for payment of the debt through a County Court local to this blokes operation. You can sue qyite easily in the small claims court department of the County Court and the staff are always helpful. You do not need a solicitor for this as the small claims department was set up for lay persons.

Your claim will be for payment of ?xxx in return for a contract agreed and satisfied on your part. You will also be able to claim the cost of the issue fee from this bloke.

Cheers

The only troble with that is it is small claims and the limit use to be ?500
Dont know if its still the same
My advice would be to go round to them and make a scene (dont mean do another film) if this dont work then you are only left with the option of court which might not be worth it as if the company folds halfway through the case you will get nothing plus a legal bill.
