Excuse my inexperience, but what's the deal with model release fees? Some girls will sign for free while others demand large sums of money. What is the fee for and how much should I pay?

When you book a girl (or a guy) you agree a price for the shoot based on the time it will take, what's involved, travel expenses (if any) and that a release will be signed, plus copies of ID provided for your records.
That way on the day everyone knows what's what.
Have fun.

Just pay her whatever she asks for signing a release.
Then deduct the same amount for signing the cheque.
Just laugh in the face of any "model" who wants to charge for a release, and move on to a worthwhile girl.

Thanks for all of the replies, I thought a 'release fee' sounded ominous. I shall avoid those who are asking for one in the future, much obliged.

IT is all very well you getting on your high horses but I personally would never sign a model release form unless a bottle of JW was on the table at my disposal. AND none of your Tesco clones.
